There was a time when I was a child when I was able to recall lots of names of the constellations.
I only remember the colour of the cover of the book that I used to pour over - it was the same as my brand colour, blue.
My ability to recall the names of the constellations was so strong. I’m not sure why I stopped this practice.
Even though I never visited Jodrell Bank as a child, the thought of it was always in my mind. When I finally got to see it in the summer, popping up through the greenery that surrounds it, I realised just how huge it was. This is one of the largest telescopes in the world.
The Lovell telescope is a tool for studying the universe without actually being out there in the universe. It’s been a part of groundbreaking research.
Reflecting on my childhood curiosity, I realise how much I wanted to understand our existence within the cosmos. Jodrell Bank is the place that bridges the gap between imagination and reality. My curiosity has never stopped.
Visiting places like this can reignite our passion for learning and exploration, even as adults.
