Our Bridge AI Journey: Optimising Materials for Sustainability

We’re excited to share that we have been highlighted in this year’s Innovate UK Bridge AI: Year Two in Review annual report as part of their ongoing success stories.

Our participation in the Bridge AI programme has been transformative for our materials innovation approach. The programme’s ISO 42001 AI management training proved particularly valuable, providing comprehensive frameworks for implementing responsible AI practices in materials science. This standards-based approach has strengthened both our technical capabilities and our commitment to ethical AI governance in sustainable materials research.

The Bridge AI programme demonstrated that advanced AI integration is not only possible but achievable for materials optimisation work like ours. Beyond expanding our technical knowledge of AI implementation, the comprehensive standards training component added dimensions to our development process that ensure responsible AI practices throughout our research and development phases.

Being part of this £100M government initiative to drive UK innovation forward has positioned our materials optimisation work at the forefront of AI-powered sustainability solutions. The programme supported over 3,400+ organisations, allocated £73.8 million in grant funding, and facilitated over 1,000+ AI skills courses completed across the UK.

The ISO 42001 training specifically equipped us with the governance frameworks necessary to integrate AI technologies while maintaining the highest standards of ethical practice and risk management. This has been instrumental in advancing our mission to develop more sustainable, ethically-sourced materials solutions that can transform how industries approach materials science.

We’re grateful for this recognition and look forward to continuing our work in transforming materials optimisation through AI applications guided by robust governance standards. The Bridge AI programme continues to accelerate safe, responsible AI adoption across the UK economy, and we’re proud to be part of this initiative.
